The overall picture: ConocoPhillips bought 76 maybe 18 months ago. Now they've cut the race gas operation loose. As of the new year, those folks are doing business as Rocket Brand race gas. Soon, they'll have their web site working, at www.rocketbrand.com. Meanwhile, CL Bryant, the NorCal distributor for 76 race gas has become a distributor for VP fuels.

The Foxworthy story: Apparently, the management at the Almaden &amp; Foxworthy station put someone else's product in the tank and was selling that. (I do remember some other decal on the pump). CL Bryant, when they were the 76 distributor got pissed and cut them off temporarily.

Where this is going: Rocket has the right to sell to 76 stations, so Foxworthy should get race gas again someday. CL Bryant will be out there pushing VP. Maybe we'll get race gas in more spots when this settles down.
