Looking to have some pieces press molded and was looking for a good fiberglass, carbon fiber, or carbon kevlar shop in the area.

Large part manufacturing needed (4' by 4' roughly). I have the original I need duplicated in lighter materials. Thanks in advance!

with the Boeing and Airbus jets, as well as the military, CF and Kevlar are much harder to get - and expensive. Especially larger stuff - and even more so, the stronger unchopped or show quality stuff.

For example: ordering factory carbon sideblades for the R8 will delay your order - and the aftermarket ones are many times the cost of course.

We've been waiting 8 months for a center console for our Ferrari - the guy who makes them, says he can't get quality carbon for the larger items. He has to travel to the supplier and hand pick each roll to ensure he gets quality - and since he's small potatoes, he isn't at the top of their list.

We've been at our race car project a while, and one thing we need is fiberglass copies of the box fender flares made. A couple of fiberglass guys have flaked, and other want only volume jobs. We may have found one, but nothing has been delivered yet, so no idea on timelines or quality.

We also tried getting CF hoods made, but even with an order of 10, that wasn't enough promise of volume for shops that have a reputation for good work. They wouldn't do it for any price, given how much time and room it takes. Little stuff, yeah.

You might want to check the LA/OC area. There is usually far greater scope there.
