Looking to stay at SB for a couple of days mid-week this week. NE recommendations? Reasonable price, with a nice view of the sea, beach, marina...

Should I drive there and rock up at the front desk and ask for a quote off those hotels since it's midweek and occupancy may be low for them?

If you can afford ~400 a night (mid week) the Four Seasons is awsome! Beautiful property, great rooms, right on the beach, great service!

Or, if it is cheaper in Pismo Beach (?) I'll pick that city as well.

Basically, I am looking for clever and affordable midweek strategy to get into a good deal on accomodation in that stretch of area.

don't stay there, you can walk around the property. It's a resort style Hotel right on the beach.

Franciscan Inn. i work at Sunset magazine and we recommended it. I've stayed there and friends have stayed there and all love it. prices $60 and up.
