Need to replace two cats

I have an A4 2000 at 100k miles. I am told I can get another 250k miles out of it. Dealer quoted $2500 just for parts. I was told Bay Muffler will do it for under $1000 (parts & labor). Dealer uses Audi cats and highly recommends nothing less. BM supposedly uses aftermarket Miller. I can afford either option but obviously one won't hurt nearly as bad. Which would you choose? Thanks.

Get two dogs.

Shoot...this isn't AWOT.

I'd go with the BM option. As long as the car passes smog. You can probably even spec out your own high flow cats and put those on.
