Talked to Ernst at Diablo because...
I'm looking to sell the wifey's car and buy a CPO '03 Allroad w/ 42K mi. (long story short...because we're having a baby!!). They're selling it really high at $34.9K and I offered $26K for it, but that's way below what they're willing to sell it.
For those who are familiar w/ Allroads, what offer should I give? I looked on Autotrader and found a few from $23K and up, but the lower-priced ones aren't CPO, so I'd have to buy an extended warranty separately.
Any advice is appreciated.

that allroad is WAY too expensive ... especially for a tip.
6 spds are hard to find & may fetch a BIT of a premium, but tip tranny allroads are all over the place ... and getting cheap.
If you don't need the adj suspension of the allroad, you might also consider an S6 avant.

Thanks! After this email from Ernst, I'll take your advice and look elsewhere...
<i>"michael:
thank you very much for your interest in the audi allroad -
rtl./asking $ 36,863.00
sale: $ 31,000.00 plus fees
actual value mb estim. $ 32,000.00 to $ 34,000.00
pls advise,
ernst @ diablo audi"</i>
Where did $36,863 come from if the ad is $34,995 (which is already high enough)?? I guess it's supposed to be sale price...wow. Plus, the $32K-$34K is the MB trade-in value.
Umm...NO! I'll skip this one.

All local dealers will be similar for CPO pricing on used cars...
They all want too much money. This is not just Diablo. Dealers make most of their money taking in cars on trade at wholesale minus 1-2K..and selling for retail or retail minus 1-2K.

Thanks! Wife just mentioned something funny to me...
She said the next time I go to a local GTG, don't forget to show off the infant car seat among my other mods. LOL!
