Default Mechanic Blames EBC Green Stuff

had This Grinding noise when i brake , asif the brakes were hitting the rotors. Showed it to the mechanic and he says that its due to the material EBC Grteen Stuff uses that it has started to produce this noise and needs me to replace the rotors and brakes.

He says every person who installs EBC Green Stuff has this problem.

Can it be true???????

Thanks.

Default well rotors are brand new. I Put Brand New EBC's and Rotors 2 month ago.

I did'nt have this grinding noise before. It just started a couple of weeks ago and got worst 2 days ago. I thought rotors were warped but they seems to be fine.

I did the rebedding ( meaning goto 50 mph and brake real hard ) it seem to help a little but still its not 100%

Default Rotors might be the issue. EBC really bite

I had issues with first set years ago putting them on OEM rotors. When I switch to EBC sport rotors not an issue.

Make sure the job was done right you may have to grease the sliders on rear calipers and apply some anti squeal.

Give them a chance to break in as well.

Default i see. can rotors get bad real soon

i had new rotors and EBC's 2 months ago. The mechanic says that rotors looks good but i don't trust him.

The mecnahic said that to solve the problem i would have to put on OEM brakes and resurface the rotors.

Thats BS right?

Resurfacing might not help. You will be back to square one bedding it the bads to new surface.

May be the rotor is not that compatible with the EBC pads. I would take the whole thing appart, recondtion caliper, antisqueal, grease everything properly etc...

EBC pads do work very well and I suspect an install issue.

Check Brake forum as well
