yea.... my roomie's giving me **** about how they still suck...
but they're 10-2 for a reason. I do feel sorry for the Eagles fans... i was in that same stadium 2 days ago for the army/navy game feeling the exact same way. At least we scored and led for the 1st quarter though.
go hawks! super bowl loss here we come!

It's all about the defense.
I lived in the Bay Area during the 49ers glory days and was a diehard (TV-only) fan. You should have seen the screaming up down our town house row the day that John Taylor caught that pass to win Super Bowl XXIII. It was incredible.
But the truth is that the offense was always pretty good. Sound familiar? While I'm not sure I'd compare Matt to Joe, this is a very good offensive team too.
The difference is going to be the defense. It always was for my (once) beloved 49ers.
The defense showed up last night big time against a terribly depleted Eagles team.
When this team wins a couple of playoff games, then we'll know they are for real.
I think that's what is kind of running around in the minds of those experts. This team has gutted it out and won some close games. They have also been incredibly lucky. If Josh Brown makes that FG against Washington, whew, talk about lucky. But as it is, they've had their share of good bounces this year.
Let's hope they continue to play well, stay healthy, and get a few more of those lucky bounces.
