Stage I+ ECU Upgrade

Stage I+ software, along with larger fuel injectors*, provides even more horsepower and torque, raising the output to 235 hp (175Kw) and 275 ft lbs (372Nm), respectively. While not an extreme upgrade, the Stage I+ gives the A4 a bit more performance without sacrificing drivability or smoothness. For optimal results, our cat-back exhaust system is highly recommended with the use of the Stage I+ system.

I would have concluded that the AWE kit with a larger turbo and related software would have left the APR injectors and related software for dead...IS AWE understating its performance figures?

I would guess the AWE kit is more reliable due to the larger turbo.

But your post confused me.

The AWE K04 for the B6 is brand new but not for the B5 which is the 2000 MY car.

For a B5 you could go AMS, MTM, GIAC, Neuspeed and probably a bunch of others for a K04.

The chip numbers come out a bit better on the B6 car than the B5 due to a slightly better K03 turbo used on those applications.

The K04 kit is for the B5 while the APR chip/injector setup is for a B6.

Now if you have a 2000 with a P box ecu, then you want to use the J31 chip which puts out 250 hp and 320 tq.

the fueling system behind it has more potential for power upgrades or is it due to new fly by wire tech in the B6.

Is it time to leave the B5 behind in the quest for power numbers and move to the B6 or even the new B7? (i never want to sell my B5!)

As for big power, your better off staying with the B5 since there are very little turbo kits out there for the B6.


If your looking at going to a K04 your 2000 might be the perfect car, just depends on what ecu you have.
