Default Re: I thought the

Nope, it was the 10vt engines that ranged from 7:1 to 8.3:1 depending on year and displacement. My '86 10vt has a 7.8:1 CR, but the '89.5+ 10vt's run 8.3:1 (in the States). The 20vt ran with 9.3:1 in both the 3B and AAN, AFAIK.

Not sure what engines like the MB (2.3L 10vt), RR (2.2 20vt), KW (2.1 20vt), or some of the other 10vt and 20vt's we didn't get run.

The modified turbo probably used a K24 or K26 hotside, with a Garrett cold side. So yes, 10psi with that turbo may be more power than the stock K24, but I still bet he wasn't much over 300hp if the airflow wasn't there. The AAN runs something like 1.8bar (gauge) from the factory, 2.1 gauge on overboost, or something like that, with 227hp and 258lb-ft. Chip alone is good for close to 300hp and over 300lb-ft, with at least a 2.5bar transducer. Its been a while since I've looked at anything for the 3B or AAN, since I can't afford that swap, so my numbers probably aren't quite correct...

Default This is the story.

Last year I had a stock 10v short block with a ported (not polished other wise stock) 20v head and that gave me 130psi compresion on all cylinders. When I made that video that was at 20psi (low compresion) and that was 320hp to the wheels,I broke 2nd gear racing a Viper so I figured I should have some fun with the 1st gear and thats when the video was made.(I never ran NOS on the street) I ran 12.8 at 112mph (after I changed the tranny) Than I went to the dyno and tuned it at 20psi to 364hp at the wheels.I didnt go to the track but back to the dyno 2 weeks later and I made 418hp at 30psi, than I tried to use the NOS (75 shot) and the first run I blew it up.(car weight 3521 lbs with me)
This year I used the S6 block with the S6 crank Pauter rods with stock S6 pistons 9.3 compresion (190psi)and the same head as last year.Im using a bigger turbo from last year. (same intake manifold) At 20psi I made 448.9 at the wheels with 5th cyl intake valves leaking (155psi). I fixed the head made new intake manifold and went to the track that was on Saturday, at 20 psi first run I broke the first gear, second run I broke the second gear (hoping to launch from second). I ended up with a 26.7 quarter at 101mph leaving the line in third (thats tranny #4). Changed the tranny Saturday night went back on Sunday and all I could get was 10 psi (boost controler broke) and thats how I ran 13.3 at 102(with out braking the tranny cause its getting dificult finding them in my area.(car weight 3110 with me)
I never used the NOS since that incident last year Im very paranoid.(its out of the car)
I retired the car from drag racing its gona be my every day driver, there is no point of racing a car if I cant give it all its got.
Im going back to the dyno after the new year with fully build head (race port and polished, cams, velve springs and solid lifters) and 30 psi just to see.

Default I also have 130 lbs compression

in my 2032cc motor for my 1.8t, it is built at 8:1 compression and I cant wait to strap a larger turbo on this motor. Right now I am looking at putting it in the mid 13's running around 25psi with the K04.
