Default Bizarre ... KKK K26 electric turbochargers

I wonder if this might be useful as part of a tandem turbo setup, where the first turbo pressurizes the intake tract ahead of the second turbo, which is mounted on the exhaust manifold and pressurizes the remainder of the intake tract in a conventional manner? Two psi of boost isn't much, but it's more than enough to make up for the air pressure lost through the airbox, filter, and turbo inlet hose. Probably would confuse the heck out of the MAF, though.

Still...

[UPDATE: Incredibly, there's a _second_ one of these available on eBay! The seller claims it was part of a special batch of 20 made by KKK, which must make them quite rare. Normally, I'd consider this whole thing a joke, but if KKK put them together, I'm inclined to give the concept a bit of credence.]

KKK K26 electric turbocharger

Default You don't want that particular electric turbocharger.

The coldside and wheel looks like a standard K26. Which means it's map will be similar to a regular turbo. I.E. Relatively poor surge characteristics at low RPM and High Pressure Ratios. The Ideal electric compressor is one used in tandem with a regular turbo sized for high end flow. The electric compressor needs to be sized to provide HIGH PRESSURE RATIO at LOW RPM and LOW FLOW. That means a very particular looking compressor wheel characterized by small size, or numerous close vanes. As soon as the rpms climb and the flow increases, the regular turbo takes over. There is some complicated valving required for the transition. KKK makes setups like that, but they don't use electric compressors with that type of wheel. What "we" need is a compressor that makes 26 psi of boost at only 50 cfm of flow without surging. That way as soon as your on the throttle out of the hole, you have full boost.
