What's the stock MAF good until?
I'm guessing it runs out of capacity around the "stage 3" area - like 300-350 crank HP? Do any of the aftermarket turbo kits include a new MAF? If so, is it already calibrated for the car or is there some tweaking involved?

It might be AWW... basically the engine code for a 2001 A4 1.8t. They come with a slightly larger compressor section.

I believe 400hp approaches the limits of stock internals on the 1.8T...
and then you are talking about some real serious lag. My T28 spools up fully by 3.5k, it begins to spool noticeably at 3k. I wouldn't want spool up to be any higher considering a redline of 7k, and a realistic shift point of 6.5k.
FYI PES will build you a 2.0L from a 1.8T, that could easily net you the power you are looking for. I believe CMH is thinking he can get 350-400hp on his 2.0 with a T28 attached...
