Default Decided on my next mod..Short throw shifter. But I have a few questions...

I definitely need a short shifter. The shifts just seem long and kind of numb. It will definitely assist me in leaving more and more Honda Civics (type R's of course ) in my rear view mirror.
What should I go with?
% it shortens shift?
How much?
From where?

Default A few thoughts.........

1. The Short Shifter won't help you be any faster. The limiting factor in a shift is your modulation of the pedal, not the travel of the shifter. Also, what you gain in in reduced travel time is negated by the additional notchiness of the shorter shifter - it's easier to miss shifts when you're hustling. The stock one is a joke - it's like rowing a rabbit's ear it's so floppy. BUT - it's easier to move fast.

That beinge said, I have a Neuspeed SS kit. After driving both, I chose the Neuspeed - it has a more communicative feel, with less of a "hunty" feel to it. Several A4 owners have recently switched to the Neuspeed after having the UUC and liek the Neu kit better. I'm not sure about the %'age it antually shortens the shift, but it's a bigger reduction than the UUC, becuase it also shortens the rod height.

I got mine from Greedspeed - the prices are different depending on whether you have a push-down reverse shifter car or not. Check it out

You forgot that Neuspeed's "snickier". ;-)

Default correction...

Neuspeed ONLY drops the height to get its throw reduction
while
UUC increases the lower rod length.

Default *SLAP* Newp.

The Neu shifter employs both methods to shorten the throw.

Damon has the interior S4 Bright Sluminum beltline trim - replaces our brownish aluminum stuff.
