Default Dual Twin Exhaust on a 4.2

Is it possible to fit dual tip exhaust under a 4.2? I've seen some Magnaflow projets that have put single tips on 2.7t but no 4.2's. Has anyone tried? I know I'd have to change the rear valance but other than that I wonder why it would'nt work. Please give feedback

If there is room underneath for a couple small mufflers, I don't see why it wouldn't work and sound badass...

Get under the car with a tape measure and note pad, and go at it. Then check out Magnaflow's site and see if they have dimensions of their mufflers on the site. Otherwise, I KNOW Dynomax has dimensions and layouts. I actually prefer Dynomax mufflers over Magnaflow or Borla. Pretty darn light, pretty inexpensive, very good flow.

Default As soon as the V8 S4 comes out, all the tuners will be pressed to be the first

to release a cat-back system for them. Once that's done, I'm sure it won't take much to make it work on other models....

Depends on how similar the layout under the car is. I know a 3B powered S2's exhaust is quite different than the 3B powered 200q20v's even though the engines are the same, and downpipes are similar. After that, the layouts stop being the same just due to space contraints. Will the B6 S4's exhaust be adaptable to the A6 4.2 and Allroad 4.2? The mufflers yes, but I have a feeling most (all) of the bends will be different between the two, as well as the 4B chassis being a fair amount longer that the 8E.

Default Try here. I've never installed it or even seen it, so let us know, eh?

Anyone else? Comments?<ul><li><a href="http://www.lltek.com/exhaust_A6_4B.htm">http://www.lltek.com/exhaust_A6_4B.htm</a></li></ul>

Looks nice...Wonder how it'd fit up to the 2.8 30v Avant sitting in the garage?

Default I've got something like that on my 2.7t now..... pics in my profile...

Drop me an email if you want more or details.

I had my local shop fab up a system from the resonator back and used Borla tips - being a turbo I skipped the rear mufflers but I'd suspect you'd need those to live with it for any length of time.

The valance is fairly easily notched by a decent shop.

regards,
