Default It is fine

A steel hood would damage your car if it wasn't latched and flew into your windshield. The issue for anyone running any type of composite hood is that they are not 36 lb. heavy steel hoods, so you just need to be observant of wind conditions when you have it open.

Don't worry so much. I've used a composite hood on my car for years with no trouble. My car was even in a fender bender with minimal damage, which was subsequently repaired. My insurance even paid for the repairs!

Have fun.

Default Oh yes,

That was the second time. Must have been a windy spring. The first incident was on the track after Norm forgot to put the hood pins in. The second time was off track. That particular hood actually weighs about 4 lbs. since it is the *race* version and has no undercore. It's actually even lighter than the street version that 'bkw' now owns.

I haven't had any issues with MY race hood only because I know that when it is windy, I just need to keep a hand on it (or someone else does) when I'm checking under the hood.

With the slightly heavier street version (which I believe runs about 11 lbs.) it would probably be less likely that wind would lift it as easily. I have not had a wind problem with my full street version.

So, are you doing One Lap 2001? I was hoping to enter it in mid-price sedan class but I'm not sure this year will work, due to some unexpected things happening. It's doubtful I could get that much time off. We'll see.

Default Oh, I'm alive....

I just don't get to visit here much. I think it's been a month or more.

Good luck with which thing, is the question. There's so much going on at the moment but "good luck" certainly works for all of it. Thanks!

I'm seem more busy than ever. I never get the chance to hang out on AW anymore. I certainly don't know many of the names here now.....not like the old days. At least YOU are still here, Steve. I can always count on you to keep things going for us JETS/A4.org./AudiWorld old timers!
;-)
