How does the ECU calculate torque in block 120? Any ideas?

ummm nope.. especially on chipped cars where MAF values has been manipulated.
I know some tuners to that for larger turbo kits.
It's trying to ESTIMATE energy converted from measured air with assumed factors such as volumetric efficiency, pumping loss. There are just too many factors that can screw this up. IMO this is not a reliable way to get a absolute torque value but a good tool to do before and after comparisons.

BTW, checked my shop manual, it says
(in the tranny section ) that the torque values are calculated based on RPM and injector pulse. so it's not looking at MAF boost or anything else directly, assuming bentley is right.
