Increased performance with uprated FPR on chiped K03?
Is there any advantage performance wise or reliability wise in upgrading the stock FPR on a chipped (APR) K03?
TIA

K03....
Hiya,
K04 different story, as dingster has pointed out you don't want to be at the rated duty cycle. MOST K03 setups max out at 210hp (see cmh's car for other mods and a higher hp setup), in which case the stock injectors/fuel pump are fine.
Check out cmh's posts/sig for a list of his mods, that is an extreme K03 setup, for his injector/fuel pump setup.
Now if you are talking about the New Beetle or the Golfs, I believe the fuel pump needs an upgrade. I think in the A4 the same pump is used for the V6 and the 1.8T, in the Golf/New Beetle it is the same pump as the VR6/2.0L.
Anyone else with info on this please confirm, I'm answering this on assumption from the A4...
Cheers,
Michael

This all depends on which year car you have. The non dbw cars have smaller injectors then the dbw car
If you want more power with the older cars then you have to change out the stock injectors. GIAC is doing a chip for the older cars that will use larger injectors to get more power out of the smaller K03 on the non dbw car.

Thanks for the info.
Just curious though, does this mean the non dbw cars have a smaller K03 as you imply above?
Also, from your explaination I can assume that with an APR/GIAC 1.0 bar chip the stock FPR and injectors on a 2000 1.8T should be fine (i.e. no reliabilty or lean issues)?
