K04 kit with K03 chip
I have been running a K03 chip w/ a K04 kit (98.5 nDBW) and have met or exceeded AWE Tuning's claims for the K04 kit (details below)- any ideas how? Are the programs that similar? Does the code make a big difference as long as the base parameters are established, and a ratio of boost/air/fuel is maintained? I've read of ppl running big turbos and big injectors on stock programming, for example. Or, could the K04 kit be under-rated?
Claimed 235hp, my corrected dyno 243hp (per AWE). Claimed quarter mile by AWE-sponsored Liam in Montreal (as shown on AWE website): 14.59 at 93, my time 14.61 at 94 (and I suck).
Any reason at this point to pay $200 to get the K04 program?? Seems pointless to me. Car is perfectly smooth, not rich or lean (no smoke or soot, no detonation), over 20mpg... Ideas??

I'm guessing the K04 chip will run slightly more boost and timing than a K03 chip....
with the biggest difference being in the upper RPMs, low and midrange will probably be the same
See if you can find someone local to you with a K04 chip, and try it out first
