Default Mixing oil for optimum performance

Greetings- New widow, trying to figure out this oil thing. I have a 2008 A4 Cabriolet. 90K miles. It is burning more oil than normal, I think. The manual says to use SAE 5-30 or SAE 0W-40. My late husband had purchased two gallons of Mobil 1 0-W30. Probably for a different vehicle.
What, if anything, can I mix with that oil to get to the correct formula? Many thanks....
Mary

Mary, welcome aboard.

That's definitely the wrong oil and will not meet the spec set forth by the engine manufacturer.

Look for something thicker. I would try to purchase Castrol's oil meeting the 502.00 spec in 5W40 weight.
