Default Mobils website suggests 15W 50 for turbocharged engines..

Default Lol, don't dredge up this old saw...

Ask the S4 folks what they think about using higher visc. oils and turbo failures.

It's all about bearing clearance, this ain't no 1960 Chebby v8.

Now, if I was going to RACE, in the desert in summer, I would use redline 20w50 race oil, But that's it.

It is really about film strenght, viscosity is not much of a factor with a good synthetic.

Default I've run 15w50 in my S4 for 5k miles...

Apparently, that's all the put into the Porsche's, including the Turbos, here in Texas. It's fine as long as you wait for the oil to warm up and don't live where it gets quite cold.
