Potential problem with RS4 clutch install......need feedback
I've heard that the stock S4 clutch slave cylinder may be inadequate for generating enough force for the RS4 pressure plate causing the cylinder to fail. Apparently this happend to one person three times. Anyone care to comment before I put down $2500 in parts and labor for an RS4 clutch/pressure plate and flywheel on my S4.

some answers...
The S4 will be perfect for up to 4500psi it produces about 4800-5000psi depending on age and wear. I have clutch kits with clamping force from 3200-4000psi. the RS-4 is 3000 psi the S4 is 2400-2500psi. so far there has not been any issues of slave cylinder failure with any of my clutch kits.
An RS-4 clutch is fine but Audi updated Slave cylinders mid year i can look up the partnumber of the RS-4 and the S4 because from what i was told the S4 started using the RS-4 slave as of 8-01 production year.

Vijay,
I was the one who relayed the msg to AMS. Do a search under username "hchan" - he is the one doing the mods and had problems.
Talk to him directly and ask for details.
Nice blue S4 btw !!
