Default power ... where are you?? (help needed)

Last month I had a GIAC chip installed in my 98.5 A4 1.8TQM. You couldn't wipe the stupid grin off my face as I was being thrown to the back of my seat.

Last week, however, I lost the "umpf", and now the car feel more-or-less stock. I can't even be sure that the turbo is spooling anymore.

I put the key in the "on" position (without starting the car) to re-synchronize things, but no luck. I even unplugged the battery in hopes of resetting the ECU, but still no change.

What could be wrong? Is it the ECU? The turbo? The DV valve? (I had a Forge installed 3 years ago in anticipation of future power upgrades)

History - half a year ago I installed a Milltek cat back. It seemed a little louder than expected based on comments in the post, but the installer couldn't find a cause for it (it's "normal"). Now around the same time as my power-outage it seemed that the exhaust got even louder. Can they be related? Possibly a leak at one of the joints throwing the O2 sensor readings out of wack?

Help!

I wouldn't bother, if the chip wasn't seated, the car wouldn't run right?

Default The same thing happened to me 3 years ago. I was disappointed with the power output

and installed an APR chip. It did okay for a bit, but then felt weak (and I wasn't hearing the turbo either). I think that my turbo was going out and the more aggressive programming finished it off. I bought a used KO3, but then ended up upgrading to a Stage 3. I would check the turbo. BTW, mine didn't throw a code

Default You may be getting used to the chip or turbo may be on its way out

Are you seeing any DTCs?
