That won't work....
a turbo exhaust outlet needs a funnel of sorts to expand, you can't just open it out to the air.
Besides, I've read all the posts about people who say they lost low-end torque, but it was all butt-o-meters. No one actually proved they lost torque, and no one proved that it wasn't the ECU doing something funky.

Actually Scott of Intrax/HMS said he tried a dump tube on his race A4
and while doing this he lost alot of tq. For the track he said the best setup was a straight thru 3", but I am sure that was to gain the most top end without losing too much tq.
