Default 1.8T engine differences ??

I have a 2001, 225HP TT (a rebuildable car) that a connecting rod get out of the engine block ! Can I replace the block by any other 1.8T ? Is there any differences (in the motor itself)between the 180 and 225 Hp or with Golf/Jetta ?? Components, support compression ratios... ??
Thanks a lot, John

Default Supposedly, the 225TT had a forged crank, vs the cast cranks of all the others...

The 225TT also has a slight drop in compression, 9.0:1 vs. 9.5:1 of the others.

The actual block, rods, head, etc are probably all the same, but the crank and pistons are probably different.

Seeing that there are plenty of cast crank, 9.5:1, K04 conversions running around, I'm sure it will be fine.

Default I bought it like this...

There is a 2 inch diameter hole in the block...
