Stasis VS Porsche Brakes?? Which is Better??
#11
Why not just get the stage 3 kit to save the money over stasis and the weight over the stage 4?
The Stoptech/Brembo/AP Racing/Alcon/Posche Stage 3 will be somewhat similar for most needs. When it comes to professional racing, than sure the Alcon and AP Racing stand out, but is it worth the $$$ to you and me? Dunno. I just happened to get a good deal on the AP Racing setup with 6lb calipers and 13lb rotors but i'm sure the P-car stage 3 would have worked great. It helped Jet Jockey (B6 Forum) take a regional win and never faultered. cheers! Mike

didnt say it cant be done, just requires more work and money...
which you should know better than anyone. dont see the point in doing it when there are other kits of equal and better performace redily available for not much more money

thanks
nice Carmen sig :-P
Its not that the 6 pot would be beyond any limits its that the mounting bracket is different
for that price id prolly go brembo GT kit or stoptech

well..
For me, having a system that bolts on with no brackets was important to get it legally fitted on my car. Also, having the stronger axles and having the bigger/stronger wheelbearings were important as I am running a lot lower offset on my wheels.

Depending on what you want to do?
you can go oversize in brakes, adding more weight, which will slow accelleration down.
You have to come up with a good balance.
Wort sort of driving will you be doing mainly?
I would suggest you end up buying a second set of pads, one for street use, one more aggresive for track usage only.
Also a Brake ducting kit would be suggested, the best and biggest brakes can overheat just as easily if you can cool them properly.

you are very limited on brake pads for the ecs stage 4 kit
but the ecs stage 3 is a good kit with lots of pad choices.
alcons are great. very rigid and very light not to mention very high quality rotors.
