Default Stock O2 sensors

Someone recently mentioned that the stock O2 sensors in my 1.8t A4 are 0-5 volt vs the generic 0-1 volt. True? If so, anyone using any type of black box to convert the voltage to a real A/F ratio readout? I really like the idea of having a wideband O2 sensor on the car by default.

Thanks.

Default I have been told by others that the 2001 is a wide band.

I know the years before that is not.

Default Easy to find out from the stealer...

UEGOs are no less (and typically far more) than 400 usd vs. just over 100 usd for stealership heated Bosch.

My 98.5T didn't have them. One thought, its been my understanding that the UEGO has less than 1000 hrs of life, so it is unlikely that they would run one of these. Particularly, the second (downstream sensor) is just a backup on the 100,000 mile OBDII.
