Default For the suspension inclined folks....

I'm going Monday to get an alignment and get camber adjustment on the rear (tires eating up on the inside). What do I need to prevent from doing camber adjustment and the pavement chewing up my tires? I see many people doing shocks, springs but the word camber never seems to come up. Am I the only one? Need some advice here.

Ps. I have H&R race springs and stock sport shocks.

Thanks

Mau

"Ps. I have H&R race springs and stock sport shocks."

If the H&R's are anything like the Neuspeeds we put in the A4tq, they won't work well with the factory dampers. We used a set of Bilsteins (I didn't buy them, or pick them out, so I'm not sure which ones they are, they have adjustable lower perches). Still don't think that it rides great, feels underdamped to me. Koni's may have been the better choice so we could have at least adjusted the rebound to properly damp the springs motion.

That (factory dampers) may be part of your problem?

Did you not get the car aligned when you had the springs installed? That is (generally) a must when the suspension is taken apart.

Right after I got the springs it was aligned. These springs have been on for over a year now. My rear tires are eating on the inside and I can't find a solution for it.

Default there is no solution other than a camber kit. You can't adjust camber with the stock setup.

Default Camber is independently adjustable in the rear, and can be evened out in the front.

Anyone who tells you otherwise shouldn't be doing an alignment on your car.

Awe does carry an adjustable upper control arm kit, which is fabulous, if you can do your own alignments. If not, you'll be spending much $. You may also consider what car you're putting them on? If it's just lowered, and not being raced, adjustable uppers may be overkill.

Its like the people who say you can't adjust the camber on my CQ. Ball joint anyone? Granted its not much, but its better than nothing.

Default I think some kits lower the car too much and it makes it impossible to get to normal levels of neg.

camber. I cannot get anything less than .9 degree neg. all the way around, but that's fine. My car is not *that* low however.

And that may be part of whats happening to Mau. I'm suspecting those factory dampers to be part of his problem.
