Default Is there a Hyrbrid Audi community?

Hey guys, im new to the audi tuning world, but i may be recieving my dads '95 audi soon as a college present. I have been driving hondas since before i got my license. I have a 94 civic with a 95 integra engine in it right now. I got into hondas because they were cheap and i was paying for everything myself and the swapping was easy.

My question is if there are people that do hybrid audi i.e. a 2.7 biturbo into a 95 A6 and things to that degree.

Thanks a lot guys,
Matt

Default For the cost, IMO most audi enthusiasts would trade up & get the car/engine combo....

they want. It's pretty spendy to be doing, unless you've got a bad engine in a car already & a replacement engine is called for. There's several A4 owners that have swapped in a 2.7T, and it's very easy/doable. In an older body there may be more hurdles/obstacles that need to be overcome, but the initial problems are the same.

As for a community, I'd say you've found it. most of the regulars in the performance forum have (in one form or another) a hybrid car.

Well, you can put a 20VT inline 5 in there relatively cheaply.

I was a Hondahead, and I haven't found much hybrid help. Sorry.

Default vwvortex has a hybrid swap forum, although it is mostly populated by VW engine swappers

But it might be worth looking at and could lead to some good contacts.

Hybrid/swap forum

Don't search for "hybrid", search for "engine swap"

For most of us, Hybrids are gas/electric's (or other "green" powertrains). ;-)

There have been plenty of 20vt swaps into B3 and B4 quattros, as well as 10vt swaps and 32v 3.6L/4.2L swaps. Not as many people swap a 20vt into a C3 chassis, as Audi did that for us (1992-1994 S4, 1995-1997 S6).
