at exactly 2800 rpm's at half throttle it feels like the car jumps into limp mode. kinda like reverse vtec on H cars. the car feels peppy until 2800, then all of a sudden.. blah.
i thought it was the plugs, but it isnt.. i swapped em out today for a brand new set of F5DPOR's and the sluggishness is still there.
its not my bypass valve either.. i just got a new one from clark less than 2 months ago.
i read somewhere that the ecu retards the timing in order to compensate for the colder weather.. something like the audi's run a little leaner when cold out so it compensates by retarding the timing.. thats exactly what it feels like. can anyone verify this?
and if this is indeed the case.. what the hell do i do over the winter for performance? wait till spring?? i dont think so!

Where do you live?
I have a 180TTQ and went through winter last year in New England and on Long Islamd. The coldest my chip saw was in the single digits. The car drove just fine.
It is possible that the cold and your altitude in combination could be the cause. I have read where some chips need to be redone for the cold and or altitude. I know a few A4 guys had this with APR chips last winter and it was fixed pretty fast.
