For those of you with External Wastegates
#14
Yup...if you wanna send some cash my way
I'll put it straight into suspension and wheels. My turbo was dying so I upgraded, but can't afford wheels or suspension just yet. I think I'm gonna buy wheels soon and get tires for X-mas.

Nope....
The TiAL install diagram clearly shows before the TB.
The stock system comes right off of the compressor.
In fact, I have never seen a wastegate operated from after the TB.

It probably doesn't really matter...
but when the manufacturer (TiAL) includes a diagram saying to tap in before the TB, and the OEM setup taps in before the TB, it's usally a good idea to do it.
I would think that by putting it before the TB, that when the TB closes, if there is a boost spike, it will keep the WG open to help prevent turbo damage, whereas if it has vacuum applied to it, it could make the boost spike worse.
I like to tap right off the turbo for a couple reasons, first is because it's the shortest route available, and second because you don't have to worry about pressure losses from the IC or TB.
