Default Thoughts on oil filter heat sinks?
Seem like a reasonable idea, and cheap. Any thoughts? Also, anyone know the diameter of the OEM Audi S4 oil filters?

Default I'd be willing to bet that it might help a tiny bit on the temp of the oil in the filter...
but I doubt that you would see any measurable difference in the durability of the oil. The amount of heat transfer you could get out of the painted metal can of the filter to the loosely fitting (except for the bolts, which could crimp/puncture the oil filter casing) aluminum heatsnk would not be large.

Default I spoke to a fellow AW'er at one of the GTG and...
...a heat sink helped to lower his oil temps by ~15 deg.
