Can someone tell me if the 96 a4 requires the tranny fluid change, ?...Although the manual suggests 60,000, A number of dealers have told me it's a non servicable piece of equipment! I ve never heard of this and the current reading is at 120,000 miles.

auto or manual? can't hurt to have fresh fluid in there. for a manual trans, many use Redline MT90

Check with ZF for the correct fluid type to use in your transmission. It matters.
