TURBO for A3 1.6
I am an owner of an A3 1.6 audi model of 1998. I am thinking of installing a turbo. What turbo i can use and what other things i need (intercooler,etc) to take. I know that the best thing is to replace my engine with a 1.8T, but i prefer to install a turbo right now. (because of financial problems).

I don't know the 1.6 motor at all...
If it is a 5 valve per cylinder motor just like the 1.8T, then I would look at getting a K03 turbo and manifold from a stock 1.8T. On your smaller motor, you would have plenty of flow capability, and could make (with the right software) in the 150 or more hp range. You could get it cheap from someone who upgraded.
You could also get a T03/T4 kit and manifold for the new 1.8T (transverse mount, like the TT or VWs) and get decent power as well.
If it is a 2 valve SOHC or 4 valve motor like that in the Volkswagens, then I would get a VW manifold and something like a properly sized T3/T4 hybrid.
How many valves does your motor have? I tried going thru the Audi sales literature, but I didn't get many details.
