Hi all! I am enjoying my 2019 Q3 Prestige quite a lot, but still miss an on-board CD player. I know, streaming, SD cards etc. are the new way, but I enjoy playing the music that I have on CD.
Has anyone added a player? I know that the 2019 Q5 with all digital dash could be had with a player in the glove box next to the SD slot.....

I googled "Apple Lossless Encoder" and got a debate on what gives the best quality playback.....
This is not so helpful for someone who still uses a CD to tape adapter in one of my older cars!

Nope. It is closest to CD sound from what I've read. Ha! You have a modern car with a bluetooth connection to your phone. BTW, I still buy CD's. I record them to my iMac and save them to my phone. Works pretty well.

Years ago I loaded CD music to my desktop thru its internal CD drive, then onto my iPod. Works great on my 2017 Porsche Boxster. The Audi doesn't recognize the iPod and my new HP desktop doesn't have a CD drive....
This unit works for a CD option with the MMI - MIB-3, though not a perfect solution, because you have to store the CDs in the unite hard drive to be able to play them in the car, however, it is a happy compromise:
