APR Stage 1 2016 Q3
I have always drive Vw's GTI and they were never stock. I have always choose APR for my extra HPs
Before buying my 2016 Q3, I checked the APR site and they showed that they sell chip for it. However, when i contacted my local APR dealer, they told me that they didn't have software available for my ECU.
Long story short... I sent my ECU to APR headquarters, they kept it for a week and they had me waiting for software development for another 6 weeks.
This past Wednesday, exactly when my car got to 11K miles my APR dealer called me to go get my FREE tune.
Is not as fast as my GTI, but now a have a really decent 3rd gear and my throttle response has increase a lot. I have not tested top speed yet, I know that before the chip, the engine was limited to 126 MPH.
I have noticed the fuel economy has increased a little.
I wish there was a Stg 2 or even a turbo upgrade, but I guess this is not a race car and if I want speed, I need to drive my GTI that day or get the SQ5.
Free software, increase of 40 HP and 94 TQ (crank and according to APR website) in exchange for not having my ECU for a week, seems a good deal for me.
So, if anyone wants some extra HP, you can contact your local APR dealer!
