Redd your statement that "Audi of America follows up every service appointment with a brief survey" they do in Canada as well.Anytime I had dealings with dealer personnel, they made a point of mentioning the survey/evaluation of how they performed,Techs, service writers and sales people, probably have visions of Jackboots crossing their tiled floors, Sorry couldn't help myself.
I've owned Audis for 20 years and in my area at least,Audi has done an excellent job of sorting out their dealer network.and most of them are actually pretty good.Audi's done a good job with product and service in the last 15 yrs.If only "Dieselgate" hadn't happened......

Follow ups are meaningless if done next day. Should be done after 2 weeks.

Our 2012 was making some noise at idle and was jerky when accelerating from a stop and coming to a stop. We bought it at 38,000 miles and have put 10,000 on it. I assumed it was due for spark plugs since they say first replacement should be done at 35k and the car was probably traded in at that time. I got new spark plugs and the newer coil packs just for piece of mind that my wife doesn't get stuck somewhere. Now the car is so much more quiet and smooth.

murray-
With long-time inside experience of the dealer industry (cars, not drugs(G) I can tell you that in the US, it is pretty much unheard-of for any manufacturer to revoke a dealership franchise. Sometimes despite massive complaints of outright fraud. As you may have heard, Tesla isn't being allowed to sell their cars directly in showrooms because that would "unfairly compete" with the franchises they don't have... That's how tight the state franchise laws are, and odds are the car makers are terrified at the mere thought of what they've have to spend in legal fees if they revoked one. IIRC GM had to pay out some big bucks and make all sorts of offers when they shut down Pontiac and Olds, all part of the same situation.

The dealer that sold my car to me always used to remind me they wanted a "ten" and couldn't they expect that. The guys I use for service now are a Magna dealership, and they never have to ask about that--they just make sure the job is done superlatively. And when they call the next day to check on it, again, they never mention feedback with AoA, they just call to make sure the job was done more than satisfactorily. Their only failing, is that they always seem to be out of R8 service loaners.(G)
