Your Q5 does not have a dual-clutch transmission.

I believe one of the manuals, or a conversation with AoA, regarding the logic behind the electric parking brake was system integration. That is, it may be integrated in with ABS/ESC emergency brake actions, and it may also be used as a "hill hold", with the electric brake engaging to prevent the car from slipping backwards when you are waiting for a red light on a steep uphill slope. Which makes sense, compared to the way that a stick shift user would normally use the hand brake in a similar situation. Except of course, these are automatics.

The main point is that these are complex interactive systems, much more so than conventional "old" transmissions without computers and multiple brains. I would still prefer my old stick shift--except when I'm crawling in bumper to bumper traffic.(G)

2014 Q5 2.0. When I first pull out in the morning the car lunges forward then accelerates, as if I quickly applied the brake then immediately accelerated. This happens in normal acceleration or when going downhill after pulling out of the driveway. I'm at the dealer right now for the 2nd time. First time they said they could not find anything. I received the following ideas through research:
Software problem throttle position sensor. Tells computer how far pedal is pressed. Lag between pressing pedal and lunging forward.
Software glitch or faulty sensors?
Reset TCM? Transmission Control Module
