Just checked my adblue level and got the same value as above- that seems a little strange... also have 25 more vehicle starts before a warning which seems a lot sooner than the mileage value.
Wonder how accurate that is?? Hope I can find the "reset" after I fill the adblue tank.

The system may take up to two minutes to detect that AdBlue has been added

EDIT: In keeping with skl1's comment above, I've driven over 100 miles (62.5 km) since my earlier post and Block 498 still reads the same 13230 km as before. Will check it again in a month. I can say that Block 611 "Used reducing agent since last service" *does* change. It currently reads "15229.937g". That also doesn't make sense because (in volumetric terms) 1 gram = 1 ml. Owner's manual says we have "approximately" a 23 liter tank. If I've burned 15.2 liters in 5300 miles, I wouldn't even make it to the 15,000 mile service before I'd run out. I can only assume the dealer didn't do the reset at the 5000 mile service. (Say it isn't so...LOL.)
Sooooo, my guess for now is that one of the two procedures above just resets Block 611 (under [01 Engine] --> [Adv meas val]) and the other does a forced tank level reset. Hoping this is like a DPF regen where the computer does the procedure on its own, but you can do a manual reset as well. So my going in guess for a procedure is 1. Check Block 498 for current value (hopefully something accurate) 1. Fill Adblue tank. 2. Do "Resetting learning values for reduction agent metering system" 3. Check Block 611 for 0.0g used since last reset 4. Do the ignition-on-engine-off reset 5. Recheck Block 498. Should be over 16,000 km (to get you to the next 10,000 mile service) if it reads correctly. 6. Watch mileage and verify ignition reset worked (or get the next Adblue warning).
I'll wait for the 1500 mile warning and see if Block 498 reads around 2400km (like it should). Then go from there.

Just did oil & filter change on my 2014 3.0 TDI
Nothing earthshattering about it. I drained from underneath. Mind you, I'm not telling anyone to do it this way, but it worked for me. No pix but really, none needed IMHO.
Here's my order of events:
1. Warm engine. Put Q5 on ramps. Leveled it with a two-foot level on the door sill. (My driveway's on a slope.) Let sit for 30 minutes or so.
2. Remove front belly pan and pop off engine cover.
3. Crack open oil fill cap.
4. Open oil filter cap (32mm) to release vacuum and allow filter to drain.
5. Used 6mm Hex bit socket to remove drain plug. Didn't replace crush washer this time, but will for next. Tightened plug. Roughly 25 ft lbs. Spijun or someone can weigh-in with the actual value. I used numbers from clubtouareg.com.
6. Pull out filter and cap. (Have rag ready.) I separated by hand. Cleaned cap and housing.
7. To install new filter: (I bought from dealer for $15.) Align the protruding part of filter with the hole at roughly 3 'o clock. Push down and it snaps in. Replace gasket for cap. Add a bit of oil to gasket. Tighten cap. I tightened to 22 ft-lbs. Again a clubtouareg number. Bottom line is that plastic POS doesn't need much...
8. Fill with 6.7 qt (6.4 liters) of 507.00 oil. I put in 6.3ish qt just to see if the electronic sensor would read correctly. It did after second start-up. Will top off oil later.
9. Do VCDS SRI reset procedure.
10. Start up, look for leaks.
11. Replace belly pan and engine cover, top off oil, and call it a day.
Hope this helps. Old heads can fine tune torque specs and anything I missed.
