Default Anybody know the contact info for Audi corporate? (Q5 needs new engine at 24K miles)

Hi, anybody know the contact email or the way to contact the corporate for goodwill assistance?

I've asked dealer and they wouldn't help me providing such information. Audi USA website doesn't list any e-mails. They have a chat support, but the chat agents are usually the lowest tiered customer service who has very limited capabilities for any resolutions. I searched for Audi USA President & Vice-President and sent them e-mail, but both returned as undeliverables.

Now the story, my 2017 Q5 2.0T with 24K miles started knocking about 10 days ago. I towed it to a local Audi service center and was told that the engine needs to be replaced. I got the second opinion from a local mechanic and got the same answer. It had metal shavings in the oil. All services were done accordingly and the last oil change was just two months ago. The technician confirmed that the oil, filter and coolant system were all good. He doesn't know why it happened. Quoted $18,000 for a long block.

At this point, my best option is to send it to a junk yard as the repair cost is about the same as the car's current value.

Any help would be appreciated. Contact information for corporate, any similar experience or any mechanics that does good engine jobs for better price in Los Angeles area. The mechanic I went to for a second opinion said it will be a used engine with no guarantees and will cost $10,000. I opted that out as I don't want to spend $10K for possibly nothing.

Try social networks, write your unpleasant experience with trying to contact someone other than the call center

Wow, your mechanics just really don't want to work on that engine do they.

Maybe the extra 10 grand is to remove the old one and install the new one?
But I've heard getting a new Gen2 2.0T long block is iffy at best for the next year.

Same with the used one.

I assume he's pricing 5 grand for the motor and 5 grand to do the swap?

The dealership knows full well how to invoke goodwill concerns with AoA. Sounds like you need a new dealership too.
But there's no reason to not engage AoA via the online chat and get connected with an advocate resource. A corporate P or VP isn't going to bother with a single problem instance. Not unless you golf with them.

Here is a link to the Audi of America corporate officers: https://media.audiusa.com/en-us/staff. Jami Davis is the Senior Vice President for Product Quality, Technical Service and After Sales. So, he should be the best contact for your issue. Good luck.

Seriously, the dealer would not help me in anyway at all. First, I asked if they can contact the corporate for me and they said they don't do that. Then, I asked for contact info, so I can contact myself, but was told to google it or go to Audi website.

They are not even giving me a loaner because the repair hasn't started yet. They initially agreed to provide a loaner until I get some kind of answer from the corporate, but has not kept their words. I'm still being charged $300 for so called "diagnosis." I'm towing my car back tomorrow as they don't want to keep my car there unless I approve the repair work. This was my second Audi and will probably be the last. Engine could fail, but the customer service should not.

I did start from the contact page on Audi USA. Googled for those two top officials' e-mails, which both e-mails were not deliverable. Said the both addresses were not found. My next move will be paying for Premium service for LinkedIn to send messages as both officials are listed. If they don't respond, I will probably start calling the corporate thru their main phone line, which I doubt I will get any kind of information from them. sigh...

OP, as suggested, start smaller and use the resources available to you. The dealer should give you a written estimate for the work, which you can take to another (better) Audi dealership and ask them to advocate for you. I have had a few sporadic issues with my RS5 and my dealer was very happy to go up the chain on my behalf for goodwill repairs. Especially if you have a maintenance service history with Audi, this seems more effective than randomly contacting corporate officers.

Best wishes to you.

A dealer isn’t going to just reach out to corporate for good will. That isn’t how good will support works. And yes, anytime it’s out of warranty, you pay for diagnostics. Every dealer I know of will waive this if you then move forward with whatever the repair may be. Otherwise, you’re paying for their time, as you should expect to.

Audi won’t even entertain it unless - 1. You’re working with the dealer you bought the car from new or cpo. 2. You have a history of using the dealer network in general for maintenance.

It makes perfect sense that a dealer doesn’t want your car there if they aren’t doing work on it. It’s a liability they don’t want.

That's one more Audi than most people I know!

I've said "I'll never buy another Audi!" twice. I'm on my third now. But I've also said "I'll never buy another BMW" and I've stuck to that promise.

My advice has long been "never own a euro brand outside of a warranty". But I think, with increasing complexity and labor rates, I may revise that to include any modern vehicle (i.e. made in the past five years or so). Unfortunately that means I won't be able to drive the nicer cars any more. Too expensive to buy with a warranty, too expensive to own off warranty, despite heavy depreciation.
