Im sure order has been placed by now. Just waiting for word to come back when they get to distributor in the US.
He's been working a good while making sure its right. That's why we were trying to work with a reputable company so they would have the resources to get it correct.
Hopefully it won't be much longer.

The grille ordering is underway...
If you are interested in upgrading to the RS Grille, this is your chance, and judging by how hard it has been to get this off the ground, the ones of us who will be running these will be some of the only Q5's in the world with the aggressive style RS mesh grille.
Hopefully there will be enough grille's ordered to get this done. The early orders placed will receive a discount, and I believe LLTek is offering an even larger discount and free shipping if you upgrade to their Caractere body kit.

Few know of the plans for us to release a Q5 RS grill.
Please note: if your car is the new 2013 facelift car this grill will not fit.
There may be a version later on but for now my apologies.
Its now decision time for all of you because the grills are going to be produced shortly.
In this email you will see pricing, deposit requirements and some information about the grill.
Because you are in the first order block (an early adopter) you shall all be receiving a 20% discount.
It’s like a group buy sale price without the formalities of a group buy.
Each order will be viewed as a free standing order but you all save.
Many of you do not know much about our company.

First here are some things you should know.
We order about 20 variations of grills about every 6 months.
At any given time we have in stock about 250 - 300 different grills for Audi cars.
The Q5 RS grill (NOT THE ONE JUST BELOW) which we will supply will look amazing and will make your car very unique.
The grill below is a plain all black grill.
It is not your new RS version. Its there to show you its physical size.
If you have never seen your grill before off your car it looks like the picture below.
All of the side faring and under grill openings will be on the RS grill.
You can see it’s a rather large grill with a lot of hidden material when installed on the car..
So it’s not a small part that is shipped and it has to be well protected when it’s shipped.
The box will be large.
The end look of the RS Q5 grill you will receive is more like the one below.
This is our all gloss black RS5 grill with the RS mesh.
It’s your new look but in Q5 RS specifications.
You are going to be asked to leave a deposit of 50% of the discounted price (20% off) plus estimated shipping).
Note: you transfer your Audi Rings from your grill to the new RS grill.
You will receive a grill badge that says Q5 RS which you can optionally choose to install.
A European numbers plate will be provide at no extra cost.
USA and Canadian cars that are mandated to have a front licensee can direct bolt up the plate (with or without a frame).
The lower center carrier bar is eliminated so you have that new clean RS look.
You may wish to consider spray painting your aluminum impact bar black to hide it.
If your car has front parking sensors the brackets are included.
The grill fits S Line models and all motor variations for FWD and Quattro.
So your first questions will be:
1. I do not want to leave a deposit and what if the grill does not show up.
2. What if I get my grill and do not like it.
3. What happens if I sell my car before the grills arrives?
4. Its taking too long and I just want to cancel.
Here are the answers in general:
When we order the grill we shall order in excess of the buy in group.
Thus your grill is reserved for you in the order block and this deposit covers your fixed reservation.
And we take into account your grill order in the overall number of grills we order.
Like a lot of items in this world the desirability of a particular look is very subjective.
You need to look at the RS style and say this is what I want in my car.
You need to like the look of the RS honeycomb mesh and say this is what I want.
And you need to be happy with the more technical all black gloss look.
The picture of the RS5 grill above is going to be the same basic look you will receive.
If you do not want that look you simply say no thanks…not for me.
So you cannot say I received my grill and I do not like the look.
And if while waiting your car was sold or accidented beyond salvage find a friend who has a Q5 and make them happy.

As for when you will receive your new grill the answer is not finite.
We will finalize the input order after this letter goes out and a week has passed.
This should allow people who are travelling etc. to not miss out.
Because of X Mas holidays and new years etc. this can add to the delivery time to us.
That being said we should have the grills here before the end of January and maybe earlier.
This is a best effort guesstimate date.
The cost.

Buy in price $470 (20% discount)
Shipping $ 70
Deposit $ 305 ($470 at 50% = $235 + $70 = $305)
Balance $ 235 (chargeable when the shipment arrives here and just prior to shipment to you).

Has anyone had a grill installed in NY, in or around NYC...considering getting this but trying to figure out where to get it installed...and any thoughts on pricing for installation?

I don't think it's very hard to do, but it does require taking the bumper off the car.
IMO, the look of this grille is going to be well worth the effort.
If the sporty, aggressive look is what you are going for on your Q, this grille is a must!!
