I can't feel it through the steering wheel.

This is apparently normal for the 3.0T in the S models (stiffer engine mounts?). Lots of people report small amount of idle vibration with the S4 based on numerous searches I've done. 90-degree V-6's are notoriously difficult to balance they say. The dealership also called mine normal when brought to their attention, but that's no surprise or definitive answer there.

Some report it going away with an intake/filter change and in rare cases new plugs. A slight increase in idle rpm definitely gets rid of it though.

I've got the same problem with my sq5

I know I'm digging up an old thread but I've recently noticed an increase in vibration inside the car at idle especially after cold start. When it was colder out it was causing my sunroof glass to rattle. Once RPMs are over 1000 there's no noticeable vibration in the cabin. Did anyone have this issue corrected at the dealer? I'm thinking maybe it's an issue with the motor mounts but if someone found that it was something else I'd love to know.

Funny you mention this, I just purchased my SQ5 2019 a day ago with 95 miles. right when I turned it on to let it warm up, it had a tremor. After it warmed up, it still has the tremor. I drove it again this morning to work and it still has the tremor. I test drove one before I purchased my SQ5 and it had a tremor at idle as well. I'm taking mine in tomorrow morning to have them look at it.

2016 SQ5 24k mi, slightly rough idle. Smooth at high idle during cold start, smooth all the way down to idle, then at idle it's just a little rough. Seems like this is common and maybe by design...? Had me a little concerned as I've only had it two weeks but it runs 100% smooth at all other revs.

Mine has gotten worse over time so it's going in today. Worst at idle in Drive or Reverse than Neutral. I'll let you all know what the issue is once I find out.

Got my car back. They said they could not find a cause to the vibration issue so it was labeled normal, I still think my mounts are going bad so at least I have the paperwork showing I identified the problem for when they fail out of warranty... In addition I had let them know I thought there was an air pocket in my coolant system based on noise when the heater box was on, they checked it and found that the water pump was leaking so they replaced it. At least they were able to catch and resolve that.

smooth and quiet, RPM needle is as steady as can be at idle.

15 manual trans S5 here. Yes just a bit lumpy at idle. Not enough to see tach needle waver. Smooth as silk once rpm comes up at all. Have to be careful not to redline it in lower gears if hurrying. I expect you and I are just hyper sensitive to irregularities in idle. ( aren’t 90° V6 engines known for this?)

Smooth as glass once the high idle comes down, even with the A/C running. Now at 116k miles, with new plugs/packs. I just did the trans fluid service as well, and it seems smoother after but that may be wishful thinking. Interesting note, operating temps are 12-15 degrees higher after the fluid and filter change.
