Does anyone know how to stop MMI Bluetooth from auto start playing audio?

It's annoying as hell to start the car, start driving, then MMI connects to my phone, Audi tells it to start playing whatever I last listened to, and then have the audio coming from my phone, MMI show it's playing, and it isn't responsive to pressing the 'pause' button on the center console, so I have to pick up my phone, unlock it, open the streaming app, and pause the audio. If I later want to play audio I need to disconnect the phone BT from the MMI and then re-connect.

RS-NAV is probably the right answer but I don't want to drop $600 on this (although that would also replace the utterly stupid GPS/NAV and the confusing pause+mute / resume+unmute crap).

You may to turn on the radio as the primary audio source in the settings MMI

You can try in the MMI settings "Bluetooth audio player" set to OFF
or
Or maybe tried disabling in phone settings when connected not to play audio

Thanks - phone app already has disabled autoplay on connect, and that works correctly for other BT devices, but the Audi still autoplays on connect.

I do want to use the bluetooth audio player so turning it off isn't going to work, and I don't listen to the radio ... but I wonder if there's another default option, like CD, that will prevent it from going to BT ...

When you select Media and Sources, reference the sources listed on MMI are:
Jukebox
SD 1
SD 2
DVD
AMI
Bluetooth
