Default I give, what is this ?

I presume some type of socket for a hanging bar between the two sockets in the headliner right behind the front seats ?????

Does anyone have the bar ?

Yes; I have them too... you should have 4 of them... 1 set behind driver & passenger and 1 set behind rear seats... Audi sells a front a rear "partition" that can be used to prevent items from shifting...

I've also found the "dog gate": http://www.iamaudi.com/audi-q5-dog-gate/

Hope this helps,
-Ryan

It's actually a partition that keeps dogs in the back away from passengers. Mine came with it.

Well, that dog partition looks like it is great for more than just dogs - it would keep packages/boxes/bags/etc stacked up in the back from flying forward and hitting people in the back of the head should a quick stop occur.

But I would also be willing to bet that Audi has other accessories that fit.

I think it is underselling it to call it a "dog barrier"!

It's a cargo barrier used to stop items behind it from flying into the passenger compartment in the event of a frontal impact.
It can be placed in the rear most mounting holes and strapped to the floor or seat back (can't quite remember).
You can also use the barrier in the front position (behind the front seats) when you put the rear seats down.

Everyone should have one for those times you are carrying heavy items or have the rear seats down with items in the back. I got mine from Ebay Germany.

Mine bolted into place and I use it for a dog barrier to keep the dog in the back even when not having a frontal impact. ;-)
