Default Just bought a 2015 SQ5

Hey Everybody,

I just picked up a 2015 SQ5 with 30k miles on it. I love this thing, and I would like it to make a little bit more noise. I don't normally make my vehicles louder, but it hardly makes any noise! Are there any moderate upgrades I can make that are louder than stock, not not obnoxiously loud? I'd be stoked with a 30% increase in noise. I've seen IgnitionTube's setup and his exhaust is way too loud. I'm looking for something that I can hear, but not looking to wake up the neighborhood.

Also, what do you find with tunes in every day driving? I'm not looking to track it, but I live in the canyon, so I'm thoroughly enjoying the car every day. Looking for things that are moderate and fun, but not looking to make gas mileage, driveability, or reliability tank. Thoughts?

Lastly, does anyone know where I can pick up a carbon fiber trim kit? I called Audi and they charge $500 per piece, GTFO I'm not spending $3k on a $500 upgrade. I've seen kits go for sale for $800 on forums long ago. Tried some scrap yards with no luck.

Thanks,
Chad

I have a 2015 SQ5 I’ve had for a yr now. I am going to be doing some upgrades to improve handling, horse power and drivability to include a custom carbon ceramic brakes up front. Dual Supercharger pulleys, custom exhaust, custom ecu tune. One of the coolest will be widening of stock wheels in the rear to fit 315/35/21 tires. Also will be changing springs and shocks. She is gonna be a real sleeper!

plenty of carbon fiber kits on eBay and fb market, look at some SQ5 pages, dunno off the top of my head and so many options for exhaust.

From casually reading the exhaust posts here, it sounds like it's particularly difficult to get these cars to sound good when want, and also not drone when you want it to be quiet. Since this is an expensive modification and sound is subjective, you'll probably want to find a local modified Q5 to listen to before dropping the $$$$$.

While you're modifying the exhaust I suggest you look into moving the cat's downstream, as the increased heat and fuel from tunes > stage 1 seem to shorten their lives dramatically.

Much appreciated! Good point there on moving the Cats downstream. I'll look into that if I do any exhaust.

Thanks! What made you choose that over something like IE?
