Just did my part.

Called my Audi rep and they gave me the same runaround as everybody else.

But figured I would (again) voice my displeasure on the maps to them. A 2012 vehicle should not be outfitted with maps that are 4 years old.

Edit: For what its worth....She did tell me that the Q5 maps are #1 on their priority and they are close to getting it resolved. They know this is a big issue out there...

I'm still waiting for my Q5 to arrive but this is one thing that has me losing sleep at night. Why don't we use this forum as well as other Audi ones to start an official petition to Audi? Complaining on forums rarely will get you anywhere and at best a someone at a dealer will feed us some B.S. story.

Do it officially and I am sure we will get some attention. To me this is no different then a faulty part that needs a recall.

Just my 0.2's.

I am still considering an Audi, and this has left a sour taste in my mouth. Am currently driving an ML550, 2008, and was bitterly disappointed in the nav system (my fault, I should have spent more time with it). After complaining for a while about the maps and the POI database I finally took some duct tape and taped my Garmin over the MB screen, took a picture, and sent it to MB customer service in an email, telling them I had finally gotten my MB navigation to be 'as good as a Garmin'. Never got an answer back. Asked them if they really considered their navigation package 'the Mercedes Benz' of navigation systems, also no answer....

For those of you that are looking at Audi's (as I am), spend a lot of time playing with the radio/nav/electronics, as you will actually interface with them. The ride you experience is nice, but can be ruined by a frustrating interface between you and the vehicle.....

I have lifetime maps on my Garmin, cost me $90, and I get multiple updates per year. The MB system is lucky to have 1 per year (sounds like the Q5 has NEVER had one), costs $240, and is crappy to boot. My recommendation is to simply avoid manufacturers navigation systems and 'get a Garmin'. You can easily get a very good one for less than the cost of a single map update for your vehicle, and it will have a far superior interface, and include lifetime map updates and traffic....

so pathetic!!
in trying to request update map information/submit a complaint of the sub-par quality product of Navteq they do not have all Audi models listed nor are most of them past a manuf. yr of 2009!?!?!?

submitted complaints to BBB and AoA also - following the lead that it's right we paid $$ for this upgrade, that is treated worse than a spare tire!
Next time I receive an email from Audi asking how is my Q5 and my impression of it I hope to remember this lack-luster aspect.
