Interior pics:

BTW, are these compact rear headrests across the whole 2014 Q5 line now or just the SQ5. They are a HUGE improvement in visibility!

LOOKS like it's the same?

Indeed, the 2013 results seem to have the side headrests set at being taller/sticking out...

MAN... SICK.

I'm thinking trading my 2011 in for a 2014... should I?

This is how my 2012 was. Not sure if it was a US thing or not.

I'm sad to report my Q5 TDI does not have these. Assuming it was an SQ5 thing, I walked over to one on the lot before leaving and looked in to confirm, and to my surprise that SQ5 didn't have these either. Looking on AutoTrader ads, I don't see any there. Did you or Audi intentionally put 3 of the center headrest in? If not, it seems right now you have one of a kind, potentially done as an accident. Hope you don't have a "Friday car" and have other things the same that shouldn't be (two first gears )

My A3 had similar - good for vision, but when you sit back there, you have to reach both hands up and lift it up else it's in the top of your back.

My SQ5 doesn't have these either. Only the center is the compact type, while the outer ones are semi-compact.

Interesting that Audi is putting different rear outside headrests on these cars now. Very curious as to why...

I wonder if it has anything to do with being tied to a specific option? But what? wrcardon's SQ5 is also US-spec and seems to have the same sport seats with the nappa leather package as mine, except I went with the two-tone spec, though my rear headrests are still black. Only difference I can think of is that I also have a prestige trim with the rear window roll-up shades and the driver assist package, but I don't see how either of those options would have an impact on the headrests.

I don't have the optional rear side airbags, which I omitted from my order because we will have an infant in the back. Could that be it?
