My A3 had similar - good for vision, but when you sit back there, you have to reach both hands up and lift it up else it's in the top of your back.

Interesting that Audi is putting different rear outside headrests on these cars now. Very curious as to why...
I wonder if it has anything to do with being tied to a specific option? But what? wrcardon's SQ5 is also US-spec and seems to have the same sport seats with the nappa leather package as mine, except I went with the two-tone spec, though my rear headrests are still black. Only difference I can think of is that I also have a prestige trim with the rear window roll-up shades and the driver assist package, but I don't see how either of those options would have an impact on the headrests.
I don't have the optional rear side airbags, which I omitted from my order because we will have an infant in the back. Could that be it?
