Love the Michelin Premier LTX on my Q5 with 20" wheels. On several vehicles (two Audis) I have found Michelin to be the all-season winner. Of course I seldom drive over 80mph and do not do 4 wheel power slides in the corners.

I'll definately be looking at other tires, too, when it's time to replace the Conti DWS.

I didn't really think much about the tire noise with the DWS 06 until I swapped my winter Michelin PA4 on. I was pretty surprised to discover that the PA4s were significantly quieter than the DWS 06. Go figure, since my understanding has always been that winter rubber should be noisier. I'm tempted to just get some dedicated summer rubber and sell the DWS 06.

Rice,

Don't sell them yet... remember the snow is coming tonight!

I've got a separate winter setup with dedicated snows (Pilot Alpin 4), so I'm prepared! I had actually been thinking of swapping for spring until this recent cold front hit. I guess holding off was the right choice.

My plan was to get a set of Michelin Premier LTX as well to replace the OEM Summers that came with the vehicle. At the time, last July, they were not available in 255/45/20 on Tire Rack or anywhere else I looked. I contacted Michelin who confirmed that they were not currently making them in that size. They said that they would pass my email on to the marketing group. Looks like it worked, tire rack has them now, perfect timing. Wound up with the Conti DWS06. I’m happy with them so far. Good handling, comfort and no problems in the snow and I think they’re actually pretty quiet. Would have really preferred the Michelins though, have to wait a while now, bummer.

I'm not going to complain about their noisiness today!

Meanwhile, what is the wisdom as to the best 20" summer performance tire? I like my Goodyears fine so far, but usually their tires are not the best out there.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport (now being replaced by the Pilot Sport 4S).

I've got these tires on my Q5 2017, and recently traveled to Mammoth. We were required to have cable chains because it was in the middle of a snow storm. We slid around a bit, but I never felt unsafe. With that being said, I would probably be OK driving around in the snow but the summer tires certainly did not grip as well as a winter tire would.
