Yes, the fob is water proof not because the key case. the button area is actually uncovered ever since. But I can confirm it is working after just air dry. There must be some rubber gasket under the button that are water proof.

Good to hear Audi applied some good engineering design with the key fob. They look pretty expensive if you ever have to replace one.

Default Key Fob cover

I have a 2017 SQ5. It fits perfectly. I have never tried to activate the panic button. I suspect you could still push through the cover to activate it. Maybe because I'm a guy, but I have never used a panic button on the remote in 20 some years ....
