Again, it looks tidy, unit placement and the double tape were indeed ingenious solutions!

For me racechip is an investment. Today I managed 8l/100km (and I have a boost leak). I want this tuning chip to last since it performs really well. Hope I can help others to do the proper installation with the proper satisfactory temperature range in mind.

I give it an
A for performance mode (race). It is like driving a 3.0T FSI.
A for efficiency mode (economy)
A for technology innovation (bluetooth software)
I have not tested sport mode.

I will not give a rating for installation instructions because those were not satisfactory. I hope that I have helped in this aspect.

Hey apoelistas, may I ask what spark plugs and coil packs you are running? Thanks.

Spark plugs OEM but the Long life ones from audi main dealer not sure which brand (I remember they had 2 brands for long life).
coils also OEM.

Any suggestions??

Running on efficiency when accelerating fast between 120-130 there is a slight engine misbehaviour (like power kick). Had this observed 3 times. Maybe efficiency should not be driven like race?? Just an observation. Drove 1.5 hours on highway today with efficiency mode but more sporty style driving.

Well, I've been reading that increased boost pressure could cause missfires and that upgrading to R8 coilpacks and cooler spark plugs could help, this is for Stage 1 APR (or similar) chip tuning, not sure about RC or the likes. I'm collecting as much info as possible since I'll be either go with an APR tune or buy the same RC unit you have, this will happen in 4-6 weeks once I perform my 85K km service. Thanks for your feedback as usual.

Thanks as well for your recommendation.

Tomorrow I will fix boost leak and ask the mechanic for an intercooler upgrade, if he has the time, then if problem persists will change to R8 coilpacks

Update:
1. Replaced 2 turbo/intercooler hoses
2. Installed forge blow off valve. Amazing sound if windows open.

Disappointment:
KWE intercooler 3.0 tdi did not fit (too big and safety front bar could not be installed). Will have to sell mine and either purchase the OEM Q5 3.0 tdi intercooler or a KWE intercooler for 2.0 tfsi. Need more research for prices and redo the intercooler installation.

8K0 145 805 E 720x142x80 was ordered. (Current intercooler size 665x142x64)

Update:
Racechip Sport Mode
No driving issues with sport mode., Will test this again for fuel consumption but I believe it is high.

Believe that cause of high fuel consumption is blow off valve spacer which vents to the atmosphere. Have to remove the DV blow off spacer and retest.

After driving with the other 2 modes and again with efficiency. I believe the problem with efficiency was fuel shortage when trying to drive fast, something that this mode was not designed for. 7.6 l/100km combined fuel consumption even with blow off valve installed (which I will remove due to high fuel consumption in the city) though driving in the midnight 150km without traffic.

No problems with race or sport modes. Looking forward for the intercooler upgrade from 3.0 diesel. Believe that fuel economy will increase since engine will be cooler and more efficient. Amazing technology. Have the chip programmed to turn on after 5 mins of engine start.

Keep up with the updates, really appreciated! Have you tried race or sports mode in the highway? What fuel consumption are you getting? Thanks!

Today I have successfully upgraded intercooler of Q5 211bhp from B8 3.0tdi (A4 A5 Q5 have same part no.) 8K0 145 805 E .

In addition to ordering the intercooler , Hella Germany, I also ordered from Audi service the 2 front intercooler wings from Q5 3.0tdi. Was a lucky logical guess since this was already tried with A5 (German post)

Part no for intercooler wing air guide are: (Audi Q5 3.0tdi parts)
1.8R0121283J left (8T0121283J is A5 3.0tdi)
2.8R0121284J right (8T0121284J is A5 3.0tdi)

The A5 left wing air guide does not need the trimming and could fit better than the one I have tested but I cannot promise, if one can test this.....).

All parts were plug and play apart from the right wing which needed some trimming with a blade (was marked).

Q5 has now an upgraded stock intercooler from Q5 3.0tdi and feels great after 1.5 hours journey.

The two intercooler hoses were replaced and hissing noise was removed.

Specs of upgrades.
266ps
438 Nm
Upgraded Intercooler from 3.0 tdi to safeguard engine from ecu upgrade
Removed blow off valve

Tuned Q5 prefacelift comparison
stock Q5 2.0 prefacelift 211ps 350Nm
Stock Q5 2.0 facelift 225ps 350Nm
Q5 Prefacelift 3.2 FSi 270ps 330Nm
Q5 3.0 tfsi facelift: 272ps 400Nm
SQ5 3.0 tfsi facelift: 354ps 470Nm

Will post photos later today to conclude my project posts. Intercooler is a nice upgrade even without chiptuning or stage 1. Mechanic time 2 hrs 30 mins or 3hrs with 2 coffee breaks. Different garage than usual. I again supplied the material and helped mechanic with the installation (2 men job).

KWE diesel intercooler can be installed to 2.0tfsi too if lower 2 brackets are removed, though difficult to remove but easy to cut (easier is the KWE petrol intercooler). Seller sent me photos and explained that if two bottom brackets are removed and using the top supplied brackets (safety bar) then the installation can be successful even with the much larger KWE intercooler. Because OEM was easier, lighter weight, and wanted to avoid cutting the brackets I went OEM way (plug and play).

Next project post will be OEM alarm installation with on off alarm door trim button.
