Default Roller style cam follower, service interval?

Hello,

Does anyone know if the roller style cam follower that comes with our 2.0T Q5 have a service interval? I’ve just hit 100.000K km and I was wondering if I should be proactive and replace it in the near future.

Thanks!

They should not NEED to be replaced and there is no service interval like many other things. That being said I'm sure it would depend mostly on service history, OCI, driving conditions and driving style.

Thanks, this is a well taken care car, always dealer serviced, oil changes every 5K miles. I’m the second owner and a car enthusiast, I’ll start servicing at my trusted indy shop soon.

And most importantly it depends on the quality/frequency of the oil you use.Generally Audi/VW valve trains are robust and the followers should never be an issue.

My local dealer only uses Castrol Edge 5w40 and as I mentioned, oil change intervals every 5K miles or 12 months.
