Default Some People...*rolls eyes*

So I hear through an attractive female co-worker whom I'm pretty close with, that there is a certain someone at work who says (about me) "Yeah, he's alright, but no MAN should be stepping out of that soccer-mom-girl-car." Then insinuates that I must be the effeminate type. The dude's never even spoke to me.
Lol.
I guess the fact that I drive the Q negates the fact that I've been in three separate combat zones in my time in the Marine Corps Infantry.

BTW, the dude drives a lifted F-250 to work.
Overcompensation much???
LOL.

Default Insecurities?

I think this post says more about your insecurities than it does your co-worker's. The Q is a great car - why should you need to back up your choice by siting your military service if you're confident in it?

Not insecure, just slightly amused that the guy does not know anything about my background, yet wants to make assumptions based upon a car I drive. Yes, the whole thing is laughable.
It's funny that some equate "manhood" with vehicle purchase. I never gave his vehicle any thought other than "Wow, that's a ridiculously large truck." until his recent comments.
I get a bit of a chuckle because this reminds me of the last scene in The Usual Suspects when the detective looks at the wall behind him and everything comes together...My co-woker's truck...His loud, brash attitude...His comments relating manliness and vehicles...lol. It all makes sense to me now.

To be honest I can appreciate his truck for what it is. It is actually quite clean and tastefully modified...just not to my tastes. That being said, I've never judged him to be this type or that type based upon his truck.

I guess my first post was more of a silly observation than anything else.

He's probably trying to spike your relationship with your lady co-worker.

Heheh. Yeah, from what she tells me, the guy's definitely trying to get with her. Funny thing is that though we are ONLY good friends, I'm happily in a long term relationship with someone else (though some co-workers call us "work spouses" 'cause we go out for happy hour. lol).
Anyway, she happens to be single and looking. She was nominally interested in getting to know this guy until he opened his mouth. He ended up sabotaging himself.

Usually lifted pick-ups are pretty useless for real off-roading as most lift kits doesn't really improve the axle articulation on cross-hanging situations nor improve the stability going inclines/slopes sideways so if this car topic becomes a pissing contest, you could tell her to tell him to buy real off-roader like Mercedes Unimog.

If it's just show truck to cruise up and down the main street then it might be "pretty"...

Yeah, and I'm in CT so it kinda' sticks out even more.
You should see it though; truly a sight to behold.
It's an AWESOME DISPLAY OF MANHOOD!!!
lol

In all fairness to the guy, it is kinda' cool lookin'. I just have no need for one.

Hmm...I wonder what kind of trash he'd talk about me if I drove the Camry to work. Bwaahaahahaa!!!
